CME Requirements for Physician License Renewal in Illinois

Physicians in Illinois must earn 150 hours of continuing medical education (CME) credit in a three-year relicensure period. To renew a medical license, physicians must attest to compliance with state CME requirements. Licensees are required by law to renew their licenses every 3 years. The next renewal deadline is July 30, 2023.

To help physicians navigate CME requirements and changes, we've compiled a list of reliable sources of information and educational opportunities.
