5th Annual Innovations in Congenital Heart Disease Symposium

Chicago, IL US
December 2, 2026
This activity will enhance the knowledge and competence of healthcare professionals in the use of simulation-based training and innovative technologies to improve the safety and outcomes of congenital heart disease care. Through expert-led discussions and case-based examples, the activity will examine the use of simulation to evaluate and refine new procedures and technologies, its role in pediatric critical care, and strategies for implementing innovative approaches in low-resource settings. Participants will explore real-world applications of simulation and technology in congenital heart disease and consider how these approaches can be applied to improve patient care.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for pediatric and adult congenital cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and trainees who care for patients with cardiovascular disease.

Learning Objectives

After this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the role of simulation in the development and testing of technologies and procedures for congenital heart disease care.
  • Analyze applications of simulation-based training in pediatric cardiac critical care.
  • Assess the contribution of simulation-based training to patient safety in pediatric cardiac care.
  • Apply simulation principles to interprofessional team performance in high-risk pediatric cardiac scenarios.
