Faculty Advancing in Medical Education (FAME): Inside the Sim: An Immersive Introduction to Simulation as a Teaching Tool
Chicago, IL US
November 17, 2026
Faculty Advancing in Medical Education (FAME) is a faculty development program sponsored by the Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators and the MERITS Program (Medical Education Research, Innovation, Teaching, and Scholarship). FAME supports faculty educators by providing resources and training in conceptual and practical skills for teaching and assessment.
Step inside the Simulation Center for an interactive introduction to simulation as a powerful tool for medical education, assessment, and clinical excellence. Through hands-on demonstrations and facilitated discussion, faculty will explore diverse simulation modalities, simulation technology, debriefing, and learner assessment. The session will also examine how simulation extends beyond individual skill development to support team readiness, implementation of new clinical processes, and iterative quality and safety improvement. Participants will leave with practical ideas for integrating simulation into their own educational and clinical programs.
