Updates in Internal Medicine for the Primary Care Practitioner

The goal of this symposium is to support the needs of Internal Medicine physicians in the ever changing health enviroment. This program facilitates self-directed, practice- based education that supports physicians committment to lifelong learning. This program is designed to offer solutions to real-world practice issues,in addition to providing updates on the latest medical practices.

 

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for physicians in internal medicine and family medicine, hospitalists, residents & fellows, nurses, APNs, and other healthcare professionals involved in primary care.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this activity, attendees will be able to:

  • Discuss the epidemiology,clinical manifistations, pathophysiology and treatment of common clinical conditions seen by internists and other primary care providers;
  • Develop diagnostic algorithms for well recognized syndromes commonly seen by primary care physicians;
  • Describe diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to common and important diseases;
  • Incorporate results from recent clinical trials in the management of patients with common and important medical conditions.
