ForwardImprovement and Implementation Curriculum: Intro to Clinical Excellence
This session provides a clear overview of what quality means in healthcare and why gaps persist despite high spending. Participants gain the foundational frameworks and UChicago Medicine–specific structures needed to understand system performance and contribute to safer, more effective, and more equitable care.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for clinicians and multidisciplinary project teams seeking to build the skills necessary to lead quality improvement and implementation efforts across UChicago Medicine.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, participants will be able to
- Define the core concepts of healthcare quality and quality improvement.
- Describe the current landscape of healthcare quality in the U.S., including major challenges and frameworks (e.g., Quadruple Aim, STEEEP).
- Identify the organizational structures and priorities that support clinical excellence at UChicago Medicine.
