This symposium addresses the critical professional practice gaps in child and adolescent psychiatry, highlighting the disparity between the high demand for care and the limited access to evidence-based clinicians and treatments. Participants will engage with expert faculty from the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, focusing on the complexities of etiology, current evaluative practices, and effective evidence-based interventions for challenging disorders.
Designed for child and adolescent psychiatry clinicians, the symposium equips participants with essential knowledge and practical expertise to deliver better outcomes and advance mental health equity in clinical practice.
Target Audience
This conference is designed for child and adolescent psychiatrists, behavioral health clinicians, and other professionals dedicated to improving mental health care for youth.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Analyze ADHD symptoms and patterns of misdiagnosis in specific populations to strengthen diagnostic proficiency;
- Conduct comprehensive screening, assessment, referral, intervention, and treatment for borderline personality disorder in youth;
- Compare and integrate diverse treatment modalities, including pharmacotherapy, for pediatric insomnia in clinical practice;
- Advocate for and implement strategies that foster mental health equity across all patient populations.
