3rd Annual At the Forefront of Hepatology: Team Liver: The Multidisciplinary Approach to Care

This program will focus on the importance of a multidisciplinary format and team approach to liver diseases which is the new era of medicine. We will discuss treatment strategies and updates on hepatitis C elimination, fatty liver disease, primary liver cancer and liver transplantation. This educational program will increase the knowledge and understanding of new technology and treatment strategies in liver disease and increase learner knowledge with a direct positive impact on patient outcomes.
 

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals dedicated to the diagnosis and management of liver diseases.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the utility and importance of a multi-disciplinary team approach in the treatment of liver diseases;
  • Outline how to implement up-to-date evidence-based medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases;
  • Describe the role of emerging technologies for medical and surgical management of liver diseases;
  • Summarize treatment strategies important to a multidisciplinary clinic designed for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, fatty liver disease, and liver transplantation;
  • Analyze how telemedicine can play a critical role for elimination strategies for hepatitis C;
  • Assess the new and emerging therapies for different types of liver disease;
  • Identify how to apply new knowledge to challenging cases in hepatology.
