Current Concepts in Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Rehabilitation

This one day course will focus on state-of-the-art operative and office-based techniques and technologies for surgical treatment of laryngeal disorders. Attendees will also learn contemporary voice pathology strategies for evaluation and rehabilitation of patients with surgical voice disorders. The format will include lectures, panel discussions, and audience participation.
 
 

 

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for physicians and other allied health professionals in the specialty of otalaryngology, and speech and language pathology.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, the participants should be able to:

  • Explain techniques for optimal endoscopic laryngeal exposure and state of-the-art surgical treatment of benign and malignant laryngeal pathology;
  • Describe the role of angiolytic lasers in operative and office-based laryngeal surgery;
  • Identify strategies for office-based management of laryngeal pathologies;
  • Summarize techniques for enhancing pre and post-operative voice rehabilitation and discover low-cost options for objective voice analysis;
  • Discuss emerging technology in ambulatory monitoring of vocal function.
