Skin Manifestation of Celiac Disease

Dermatitis herpetiformis, also known as DH and Duhring's disease, is a skin manifestation of celiac disease. It affects 15 to 25 percent of people with celiac disease who typically have no digestive symptoms, but many healthcare professionals have had little training or experience in treating this condition. This activity will explore its effects and examine the most effective treatments.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals in gastroenterology, internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry, and endocrinology as well as nutritionists and dieticians who are interested in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of celiac disease.

  • Recognize the primary features of dermatitis herpetiformis;
  • Identify the optimal treatment regimen for dermatitis herpetiformis for individual patients.
