When seconds matter, preparation saves lives. This high-intensity, hands-on trauma skills workshop is designed to sharpen the performance of interdisciplinary trauma team members during the most critical phase of patient care: the initial resuscitation. Addressing well-documented skill decay and real-world performance gaps, the course focuses on mastering the essential interventions that directly influence survival in the first hour after injury.
Participants will rotate through immersive, high-fidelity simulations and live tissue training to practice life-saving procedures, including emergency airway management and surgical cricothyroidotomy, needle decompression and tube thoracostomy, intraosseous access, wound packing, pelvic binding, tourniquet application, and rapid hemorrhage control. Expert trauma faculty provide real-time coaching, structured feedback, and proficiency-based assessment to build speed, accuracy, and confidence under pressure.
Designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medics, and other trauma professionals, this interdisciplinary course emphasizes decisive action, clear communication, and seamless teamwork. By reinforcing critical technical skills and improving performance during the first hour of care, this workshop equips participants to reduce preventable complications and improve outcomes for the most severely injured patients.
