Pediatric resuscitation can be a critical lifesaving procedure for many patients. Informal discussions with leaders at Comer Children's Hospital have shown the need to continually evaluate healthcare professionals’ performance during these challenging events to ensure the highest level of care is always administered.
Self-assessment has been identified by many educational experts a valuable method of learning. Experts in pediatric resuscitation at Comer will utilize self-assessment to continually evaluate resuscitation events. After each resuscitation, the healthcare professionals directly involved will meet to discuss what went well during the event and what can be improved.
