1. Patients with high acuity presentations for Impella (i.e. cardiogenic shock and cardiac arrest) and those requiring
additional MCS (ECMO but not IABP) are at greater risk for BARC3a+ bleeding.
2. Need for device replacement/repositioning, time on support as well as elevated INR, lactic acid, and Cr* portend a higher
risk of bleeding.
3. Significant hemorrhage is associated with short and long-term mortality.
