The Warner-Reynolds Leadership Academy aims to cultivate inclusive, effective leadership among mid-career faculty by strengthening leadership skills, expanding professional networks, and supporting intentional career development. Grounded in a commitment to advancing equity, particularly by addressing barriers that have historically limited women's advancement, the program is designed to benefit faculty of all genders and backgrounds. Through fostering authentic leadership, strategic reflection, active allyship, and a culture of mutual support, the Academy seeks to promote diverse representation in academic leadership and build an environment where all faculty can thrive.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for all mid-career faculty in the Biological Sciences Division.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recognize physiological and cognitive signs of stress during leadership challenges.
- Explain an evidence-based emotional intelligence framework for leadership.
- Apply grounding techniques to regulate responses in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrate curiosity-based coaching techniques in professional interactions.
- Integrate strategies that promote inclusive connection within professional teams.
- Analyze personal and others’ emotional cues to inform relationship management strategies.
