Well-Being Month 2023 Lecture Series: Well-Being: The Case for Playfulness

The goal of these activities is to bring awareness to the topic of burnout in healthcare professionals and present strategies to promote resilience that will improve practitioner health and ultimately patient outcomes.
 
This interactive session will engage participants in methods to inspire play and playfulness in work settings. In examining research on well-being, it will help participants devise ways they can infuse aspects of playfulness into their daily work.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals at the University of Chicago and its affiliates dedicated to improving resilience in themselves and others.

Learning Objectives

After this activity, participants will be able to:

  • State the benefits of play and playfulness;
  • Recall how increased playfulness can increase a sense of professional well-being, satisfaction, and fulfillment;
  • Identify ways to authentically bring play into work.
