Target Audience

Only registered nurses are eligible for provider status. Licensed practical nurses and paramedics are eligible to attend all portions of the course and obtain CNE hours, but are not eligible for provider status verification. While this class is typically required of ER nurses, many other specialties will find the information useful and any RN can enroll.

Learning Objectives

After this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the implications of the mechanism of injury;
  • Examine the pathophysiology behind various traumatic injuries;

In-person classes are held at the UCH Academy, adjacent to the Ronald McDonald House. There is a free parking lot. Locating the lot can be challenging.
