This year's conference focuses on "Research in Hybrid Crisis: Confronting Health Needs in Conflict and Natural Disasters," and will bring together physicians, allied health professionals, students, and humanitarians from around the world. Conference lectures will address post-earthquake response: crush syndrome, exacerbated mental health needs, and surgical and data innovations in natural disasters. Topics will also include medical education and training in conflict, analyzing health through an integrated ecological lens, and new models of health system governance in conflict.
Target Audience
This activity has been designed for clinicians and other healthcare professionals interested in evolving research and healthcare recovery through conflict and natural disasters.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Create an operational research portfolio that impacts health service delivery in crisis;
- Critique mental health strategies in response to conflict and disaster;
- Formulate platforms that are effective in promoting medical education during protracted conflict;
- Assess the impacts of attacks and natural disaster on a health system.
