Resilience-Based Care Skills Training: Self-Care and Refueling
June 11, 2024
This series will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to manage the emotional and physiological symptoms of stress while identifying and addressing the system drivers of fatigue present in the healthcare environment.
This session introduces participants to self-care skills and how to refuel in the face of burnout. It also introduces a wellness compass that orients self-care through the directions of heart, soul, strength, and mind. Participants complete a self-care assessment based on the compass elements and explore essential components of good self-care. Participants learn about appreciative inquiry and how to read their bodies' stress alarms. They also learn how to have compassionate conversations and explore the impact of conscious communication. The goal of these exercises is for participants to learn and value the positive effect of self-care and activities that support self-care. This course is a stand-alone learning opportunity, but it requires the pre-requisite of Session 1.
