Target Audience
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Perform essential actions that must occur within the first moments of a cardiac arrest, appropriate for discipline and specialty;
- Demonstrate how to assist the code team in minimizing interruptions throughout cardiac arrest by proactively working through arrest algorithms in anticipation of next steps;
- Identify the role responsibilities of each member of the Dr. CART team;
- Describe appropriate procedures for activation and cancellation of the 1-4-7 emergency response communication system;
- Describe how to utilize the closed-loop communication technique to ensure understanding and completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities across professions;
- State how to apply and utilize hospital-wide emergency equipment, policy, and procedures.
