
Medical Education Day: Annual Program and Clerkship Directors' Retreat
The program will expose participants to the importance of interprofessional education (IPE) from a local and national accreditation perspective. Participants will be introduced to current interprofessional educational programs being used currently at the University of Chicago. Attendees will then work in small interprofessional teams to create potential interprofessional curricula for development locally, and will receive feedback from local leaders in IPE.
Target Audience
This activity has been designed for physicians and other allied health professionals interested in interprofessional education across the continuum of medical education.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, the participants should be able to:
- Recognize the importance of interprofessional education curricula to medical student training;
- Describe at least one interprofessional curriculum being used at the University of Chicago currently;
- Identify at least three important steps in the development of medical education curricula;
- Create a draft proposal for a new interprofessional education curriculum to be developed at the University of Chicago.
