Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- State the definitions of mandated reporting and mandated reporters;
- Identify the indicators for recognizing child abuse and/or neglect;
- Recognize when to report suspected abuse to the appropriate authorities;
- Describe the process for reporting child abuse or neglect in Illinois and the required documentation;
- Discuss the response of Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) and the role of the reporter after a report is submitted.
