This activity intends to empower advanced practice nurses with the ability to recognize and improve their provider-patient interactions in order to better communicate and connect with patients.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for advanced practice nurses and other healthcare professionals interested in improving their provider-patient interactions.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Recognize individual ability to positively influence each patient encounter and quality of experience;
  • State how to apply learned practices to patient interactions designed to achieve greater patient connection;
  • Define the core conditions necessary to create therapeutic relationships;
  • Describe ways to employ empathy as a learned skill.
