The Latino Surgical Society (LSS) presents a three-day symposium dedicated to advancing Latino surgeons, featuring engaging discussions, inspiring presentations, and valuable networking. The event highlights achievements of prominent Latino leaders in medicine, offers a platform for innovative research and community initiatives, and addresses crucial issues affecting Latino patients and the surgical workforce. With dedicated sessions for mentorship, partnership, and community-building, the symposium celebrates the Hosting Institution’s support and commitment to local Latino faculty, trainees, and students. Join us to champion excellence, equity, and opportunity for Latino surgeons and the communities they serve.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, physicians and medical staff involved in the Latino Surgical Society.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify the outstanding and prominent Latino surgeons by describing their contributions to the field of surgery;
- Present individual work or research and actively engage with presentations from current or aspiring Latino surgeons and allies;
- Participate in panel discussions, and summarize key issues and solutions affecting the Latino patient population and Latino surgical workforce;
- Network with LSS members and establish new collaborations, mentorships, and sponsorship relationships during the symposium.
