The Living in the Future Cancer Survivorship Curriculum: A Curriculum for Health Professionals

To facilitate the critical competencies that should be part of the routine care of cancer survivors and their families, and to address this gap in medical education, Carol A Rosenberg, MD has created the Living in the Future Cancer Survivorship Course, a framework for the dissemination of the science of survivorship. The curriculum provides health professionals with a foundation of attitude, knowledge and skills related to survivorship care.
Target Audience
This activity has been planned for physicians in the following specialties: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, OB-Gyn as well as other healthcare professionals interested in cancer survivorship.
Learning Objectives
Through participation in a multifaceted, interactive curriculum, participants will learn to:
- Anticipate the physical and psychosocial needs of the cancer survivor;
- Identify the problems that cancer survivors may face;
- Address these needs and issues in a dynamic partnership among cancer survivors, their families and the healthcare team.
