Adoptive immunotherapy has shown encouraging results in the treatment of select hematologic malignancies and has the promise to also be applied to a wider range of diseases. In 2020, a generous gift from the Jonas family established the David and Etta Jonas Center for Cellular Therapy at UChicago Medicine. This center aims to unite a multidisciplinary team of experts to accelerate research and the clinical development of cellular therapeutics. To further this goal, the inaugural Jonas Center Cellular Therapy Symposium gathers University of Chicago faculty and other national experts to discuss the basic science and translational research aspects of cellular therapies for hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and non-oncologic conditions.
This conference will facilitate scientific discussion, foster collaboration, and disseminate knowledge on cellular therapy in order to ultimately improve the lives of patients.
