This activity will expand participants' knowledge of the latest advances in the field. It will also highlight state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) techniques, including functional 4D CT angiography, 4D flow MRI, 3D segmentation and printing, and lymphatic imaging in congenital heart disease (CHD).
Target Audience
This activity is designed for pediatric and adult congenital cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and cardiology fellows who care for patients with cardiovascular disease.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recall the transformative role of 3D printing and virtual reality in the surgical planning of complex congenital heart disease;
- Identify the role of 4D Flow MRI in surgical planning for complex congenital heart disease;
- State how the virtual simulated implantation of a left ventricular assist device can improve surgical outcomes;
- Describe how fetal cardiac MRI can improve the diagnosis of congenital heart disease.
