Optimizing Immunization in IBD: A Quality Improvement Curriculum Part 2

The goal of this educational curriculum is to align gastroenterologists, other gastroenterology clinicians, and other healthcare providers with quality-focused strategies to deliver optimal immunization and preventive care to adult patients with IBD.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for gastroenterologists, gastroenterology fellows, gastroenterology NPs/PAs, gastroenterology nurses, and other healthcare providers who manage patients with IBD, including primary care/internal medicine clinicians.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
 
  • Discuss the 2017 American College of Gastroenterology guidelines for immunizing patients with IBD;
  • Implement interventions that will coordinate care within their own practice and with PCPs to ensure appropriate vaccination;
  • Apply patient education strategies to improve vaccine uptake;
  • Regularly review key quality measures for preventive care in patients with IBD.
