Introduction to Restorative Practices

This activity will provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage interpersonal conflict through intentional community building and relational activities.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for all staff and healthcare professionals at UChicago Medicine interested in enhancing skills and knowledge of managing personal and professional stress, burnout, and empathy fatigue.

Learning Objectives

After this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define restorative practices within the context of the UChicago Medicine Restorative Practice initiative;
  • Describe the characteristics of a restorative mindset and its relevance to interpersonal relationships in the workplace;
  • Explain the purpose and structure of Community Building Circles in fostering connection and communication;
  • Apply restorative principles to workplace scenarios involving interpersonal stress or conflict.

The University of Chicago Medical Center has not applied to any other state for therapist CE credit. Participants will need to do this individually through their jurisdiction outside of Illinois.

For information on the applicability and acceptance of Certificates of Participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME, please consult your professional licensing board.
