9th International Lymphedema Framework Conference

The conference presents a comprehensive three days scientific program featuring international experts and key opinion leaders in the field of lymphedema. A special patient summit is held on Friday afternoon 14 June and Saturday all day 15 June and a Physician Intensive Workshop Friday all day.

Target Audience

This educational program is intended for all medical professionals, including physicians, nurses, allied healthcare professionals and scientists interested or involved in the field of Lymphology. Program will focus on basic and clinical research in the field of lymphedema and related disorders. While this program will include the most current research and practice trends related to lymphedema care, we encourage professionals with limited knowledge of the lymphatic system to participate and expand their practice to include this exciting and under-recognized aspect of medicine.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Describe the general anatomy, physiology, pathology, and anomalies of the lymphatic system;
  • Describe at least three of the latest basic and clinical research findings in the field of lymphology;
  • Describe at least 2 recent advances in lymphedema diagnostics and imaging;
  • Recognize strategies for risk identification and strategies for reduction or management of identified risks;
  • Identify the impact that obesity plays in lymphedema and lipedema: both from a scientific and clinical perspective;
  • Recognize the challenges of compression and how to adapt for clinical practice;
  • Describe at least 3 surgical approaches to the treatment of lymphedema;
  • Identify recent innovative and promising approaches to lymphedema management.
