Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals committed to the treatment and care of patients living with HIV and HIV-related conditions and comorbidities.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, participants will be able to:
- Apply current STI screening and treatment guidelines during inclusive sexual health assessments.
- Implement HIV prevention strategies using current PrEP and PEP modalities, including long-acting agents.
- Manage antiretroviral therapy in newly diagnosed patients using guideline-based regimen selection and resistance-informed decision-making.
- Manage common HIV-associated co-infections and comorbidities using evidence-based treatment strategies.
- Adapt HIV treatment and prevention strategies for special populations, including pregnant patients, older adults, and individuals with mental health or substance use disorders.
- Integrate syndemic principles into HIV care planning for patients with co-occurring medical & social vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot barriers and complications associated with administering long-acting antiretrovirals in clinical practice.
