Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals committed to the treatment and care of patients living with HIV and HIV-related conditions and comorbidities.

Learning Objectives

After this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Implement HIV prevention strategies using current and emerging PrEP and PEP modalities, including long-acting formulations;
  • Apply updated STI screening and management guidelines through inclusive sexual health assessments;
  • Manage antiretroviral therapy (ART) in newly diagnosed patients using current clinical guidelines, including considerations for drug resistance and interactions;
  • Treat HIV co-infections and comorbidities, including viral hepatitis and cardiovascular disease, using evidence-based approaches;
  • Apply a syndemic framework to HIV care to address co-occurring conditions and reduce disparities in health outcomes;
  • Adapt HIV care strategies for special populations, including pregnant individuals, older adults, and patients with mental health or substance use disorders.
