Going Beyond Zoom: Platforms, Places, and PowerPoint to Enhance Distance Learning

As teachers transition to remote learning during the pandemic, teaching virtually is unfamiliar to many faculty. While Zoom is a common tool to many, the institution offers many other programs that can enhance learning. This session will provide practical tips for how these tools can improve virtual teaching skills.

Target Audience

  • State how UChicago Box can be used to share files to facilitate learning;
  • Describe features of PowerPoint that can be used to enhance virtual learning;
  • Discuss aspects of Yammer that can be used to encourage open communication in learning; 
  • Summarize how the Canvas learning platform can be used to support online education.

Upon successful completion, the participant may claim credit and save or print their certificate.
 
Physicians, nurses, and social workers are eligible to receive continuing education credit applicable to their profession.
