Join us for a day-long Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference focused on Comprehensive Obesity Care for internal medicine and primary care clinicians. This event is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals in managing obesity using a multidisciplinary approach. Experts will cover key topics such as clinical guidelines, pharmacotherapy, lifestyle interventions, and addressing weight bias in primary care settings. Attendees will gain practical strategies to effectively support and guide patients through personalized obesity management plans and improve long-term health outcomes.

Target Audience

This event is designed for Primary Care Providers, including Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers treat patients with obesity.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Critique current approaches to obesity management in primary care settings, identifying gaps in adherence to clinical guidelines and opportunities for improvement;
  • Formulate individualized, evidence-based obesity treatment plans that integrate pharmacologic therapies, nutritional interventions, physical activity, and behavioral counseling;
  • Apply shared decision-making principles to collaboratively develop patient-centered weight management goals, addressing barriers such as stigma and access to care;
  • Compare the efficacy and limitations of current pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies for obesity, aligning treatment selections with patient-specific comorbidities and needs;
  • Assess the impact of integrating multidisciplinary strategies, including shared medical appointments and team-based care, on improving patient outcomes and system efficiency.

American Board of Internal Medicine MOC II Credit
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 5.50 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
