FSR Sarcoidosis Journal Club

June 15, 2026
The FSR Sarcoidosis Journal Club helps to improve patient care by incorporating evidence into clinical practice, by sharing advancements in sarcoidosis patient care, and increasing awareness of current research findings.

The article to be discussed, Particulate Matter Associations with Lung Function in Pulmonary Sarcoidosis, highlights the potential role environmental air pollution, specifically fine particulate matter, may play in the severity and progression of patients living with pulmonary sarcoidosis. Patient data from the US and Canada was analyzed and compared to determine the effects of long-term air pollution exposure on lung function over time. The article will be presented and discussed by pulmonologists with expertise in sarcoidosis and a senior researcher who has expertise in air pollution modeling. A Q&A will take place following the presentations.

Article to be Discussed:

Target Audience

The intended audience includes general practitioners, pulmonologists, rheumatologists, and all specialties working with sarcoidosis as well as clinician researchers working on this topic.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the relationship between air pollution, particulate matter exposure and their effects on lung function in patients living with sarcoidosis;
