Faculty Advancing in Medical Education (FAME) is a faculty development program sponsored by the Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators and the MERITS Program (Medical Education Research, Innovation, Teaching, and Scholarship). FAME supports faculty educators by providing resources and training in key conceptual and practical skills in teaching and assessment.
Target Audience
This activity has been designed for faculty members at the University of Chicago and NorthShore University HealthSystem interested in medical education skills.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the limitations of clinical teaching;
- Define the One Minute Preceptor and its role in clinical education;
- Create goals for implementing the One Minute Preceptor into clinical education;
- Discuss methods for teaching at the bedside, in the operating room, and on rounds.
