At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the evidence for racial/ethnic and gender bias in narrative language;
- Discuss best practices in writing narrative evaluations, including using competency-based descriptions and minimizing use of potentially biased language;
- State how to apply evaluation best practices to sample narratives;
- Identify how to develop bias mitigation strategies to disseminate to faculty.
