Improving Early Recognition of ILD and the Management of IPF: Identifying and Diagnosing Interstitial Lung Disease

An early and accurate diagnosis of ILD and its specific type is vital to directing therapy and monitoring disease course and therapeutic response, but these conditions are commonly mischaracterized, and a correct diagnosis is often delayed. This activity will examine strategies for identifying and accurately diagnosing ILD.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for pulmonologists, radiologists, pathologists, primary care and other health care providers who encounter patients with ILD.

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of and perform appropriate testing to diagnose ILD;
  • Discuss the classification of ILD disorders;
  • Provide referral to ILD centers for appropriate patients.
