Target Audience
This activity is designed for primary care providers and other healthcare professionals dedicated to treating pediatric allergy and asthma.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify common comorbid conditions and alternative diagnoses in pediatric patients presenting with asthma-like symptoms.
- Describe the clinical history, diagnostic work-up, and monitoring strategies used in pediatric asthma care.
- Explain the role of allergy testing and immunotherapy in the comprehensive management of pediatric allergic conditions.
- Differentiate between difficult-to-treat and severe asthma based on clinical features and treatment response.
- Interpret spirometry and other diagnostic tests to confirm asthma diagnosis and classify severity.
- Apply validated tools to monitor asthma symptoms and assess control in pediatric patients.
- Develop individualized asthma management plans that include pharmacotherapy, trigger avoidance, caregiver education, and school-based interventions.
