ECHO-Chicago: Maternal Health
April 9, 2026 to July 9, 2026
Improving Maternal Outcomes: Practical Skills for Perinatal Care Teams
Severe maternal morbidity and pregnancy-related complications continue to rise in Illinois, with the majority of maternal deaths considered preventable. Persistent disparities, particularly among Black individuals and those with Medicaid, underscore the urgent need for clinicians to deliver timely, coordinated, and equitable care across pregnancy and the postpartum period. This educational series is designed to strengthen the skills of frontline care teams and improve outcomes for patients and families.
Through engaging case-based learning, participants will build practical strategies to manage high-risk conditions, optimize care for chronic disease, and safely guide patients through pregnancy and postpartum. The series also emphasizes trauma-informed care, maternal mental health, substance use, and interdisciplinary collaboration, equipping teams to address both clinical complexity and the broader factors that impact maternal health.
Leave with the tools to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care, strengthen coordination across care teams, and help reduce preventable maternal morbidity and mortality in your community.
