Target Audience
Learning Objectives
After this educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Recall treatments for autism spectrum disorder;
- State how to manage and treat traumatic injuries in a school setting;
- Recognize student substance use and addiction issues and solutions for addressing them in a school setting;
- Outline how to treat and manage neurological issues such as epilepsy, seizures, fainting, syncope, and elevated blood pressure in school-age children and teens;
- Identify solutions to managing students with food insecurity, including community-based social support;
- Describe the most recent information on thyroid issues and diabetes in school-aged children;
- Discuss the best practices for assisting students with acute illnesses such as cancer in the classroom setting;
- Determine the needs of children with ADHD and related conditions;
- Explain the need for special diets in children, including recognizing food allergies and disordered eating.
