Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, social workers, chaplains, psychologists, trainees, students, and other healthcare professionals called to the front lines to care for high volumes of seriously ill and COVID-19 patients and families.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
 
  • Discuss how to conduct pre-emptive goals of care conversations and documentation in the context of COVID-19 and skilled nursing facilities;
  • Identify updates on advance care planning and documentation in the context of social distancing and COVID-19;
  • Outline when to refer patients to hospice for COVID-19;
  • Discuss strategies to ensure adequate comfort medication supply for COIVD-19 patients in hospice care.
