The goal of this activity is to increase collaboration and communication between members of different healthcare professions through a structured and immersive educational experience that will allow participants to experience common clinical scenarios through the lens of other another profession. 

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals interested in strengthening interprofessional collaboration and communication skills.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe how the different workflows within the interprofessional care team are integrated;
  • State strategies to improve communication between individual providers;
  • Identify ways to better work with individuals of other professions;
  • Discuss how to enhance teamwork within the interprofessional care team;
  • Summarize a working knowledge of one clinician’s daily schedule, work flow prioritization, and role expectations;
  • Analyze the impact of interprofessional collaboration and communication on patient care.
