Cardiology Update for the General Practitioner

This symposium is a general cardiology update for primary care physicians. Recent guidelines and advances in general cardiology, prevention, electrophysiology, interventional, and heart failure will be presented along with opportunities for discussion and "meeting the experts".

Target Audience

This activity has been designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals in Cardiology and related fields.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • Become current on new guidelines for cholesterol and hypertension management;
  • Understanding indications for advanced cardiac procedures such as atrial fibrillation ablation or transcatheter valve therapies;
  • Know the newer medications for treatment for heart failure, both with preserved and with reduced ejection fraction.
