The Thomas B. Quigley Society for the Advancement of Sports Medicine was founded by a  group of orthopedic surgeons who were former Harvard athletes. The society is named after Thomas "Bart" Quigley, the team physician for Harvard athletics from 1945 until 1974 and is dedicated to the advancement of the care and safety of athletes of all ages and levels through physician and patient education, mentorship, athlete advocacy, and scholarship opportunity.

Target Audience

The target audience for this conference are physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and sports psychologists focusing in the areas of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Apply their enhanced familiarity of anatomy to the clinical and surgical scenarios they encounter;
  • Formulate precise diagnoses while judiciously using healthcare resources;
  • Critique their own surgical choices with respect to both time-tested procedures and newly evolving surgical techniques;

  • Consider the psychological effects of injury on their patients recoveries and outcomes;
