Join UChicago Medicine Neurosurgery for an evening of education, collaboration, and clinical innovation focused on the latest advances in complex cranial, neuro-oncology, and spine care!
This activity will bring together community physicians and UChicago Medicine faculty to explore emerging treatment strategies, discuss complex patient cases, and strengthen referral pathways that improve access to highly specialized neurosurgical care. Participants will gain valuable insights into the evolving landscape of neurosurgery while engaging directly with nationally recognized experts dedicated to advancing patient outcomes.
It will foster meaningful collaboration between referring providers and subspecialty experts, ensuring patients receive timely access to comprehensive, multidisciplinary care across the continuum of neurological disease.

Target Audience
This activity is designed for community physicians, neurosurgeons, neurologists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in the evaluation, referral, and management of patients with complex cranial, neuro-oncologic, and spinal conditions.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the natural history and clinical behavior of incidental and symptomatic diffuse gliomas.
- Explain the rationale for maximal safe resection in the management of intrinsic brain tumors.
- Determine an appropriate referral strategy for patients with intracranial aneurysms based on aneurysm and patient-specific characteristics.
- Differentiate treatment considerations for ruptured and unruptured intracranial aneurysms based on clinical presentation and natural history.
- Evaluate the potential benefits and limitations of augmented reality technology in spinal surgery.
