4Ms: Age Friendly Healthcare in Hematology/Oncology: Mobility

The goal of these educational sessions is to increase knowledge and confidence in the care of older adults across the 4Ms (Medications, Mobility, Matters Most, and Mentation) for providers of the hematology/oncology service.
 
This session will discuss the importance of mobility in hospital fall prevention.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals dedicated to treating gastroenterological conditions in pediatric patients.

Learning Objectives

After this activity, participants will be able to:

  • List fall risk factors for older adults in the hospital;
  • Describe approaches to decrease fall risks in the hospital;
  • Discuss the relationship between promoting mobility and preventing falls;
  • Explain the consequences of low mobility during hospitalization.
