4Ms: Age Friendly Healthcare in Hematology/Oncology: Mentation

The goal of these educational sessions is to increase knowledge and confidence in the care of older adults across the 4Ms (Medications, Mobility, Matters Most, and Mentation) for providers of the hematology/oncology service.
 
This session will discuss dementia including types of dementia, ways to diagnose dementia, and overall prognosis with dementia.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals dedicated to treating gastroenterological conditions in pediatric patients.

Learning Objectives

After this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review delirium incidence and tools for detection;
  • Discuss the impact of delirium;
  • Explain ways to prevent and manage delirium;
  • Describe the difference between dementia and delirium.
