Objectives

1. The audience should recognize the epidemiology of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) and the important clinical signs of presentation in children

2. The audience will appreciate the intriguing complexity of environment-host interactions in regards to IBD pathogenesis

3. The audience will understand our limitations towards identifying general cures for IBD and the importance of generating preventative interventions against this highly morbid condition
