Improving Patient Satisfaction with Psoriatic Arthritis Treatment

All estimated 7.5 million Americans have psoriasis,and an estimated 30% to 40% of individuals with psoriasis also develop psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Despite the availability of a variety of treatment options, many patients with PsA continue to experience suboptimaloutcomes. This activity will examine tailoring therapy to maximize patient satisfaction.

Target Audience

Rheumatologists, dermatologists, and other clinicians who treat patients with PsA.

 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity,the participant should be able to:

  • Implement evidence-based treatment approaches that may improve outcomes for patients with PsA;
  • Describe approaches to tailoring PsA therapy to each patient based on disease characteristics, patient comorbidities, and treatment response;
  • Discuss current evidence for the efficacy and safety of TNF inhibitors as monotherapy or in combination regimens in the treatment of PsA.
