Objectives:

• Understand the anatomy and pathophysiology relevant to pediatric head injuries;
• Take an appropriate history, perform an appropriate physical examination, and decide what imaging, if any, is warranted in the case of a child with a head injury;
• Know the characteristics of the various types of intracranial injuries;
• Understand the proper management of both minor and severe head injuries in children.
