3rd Annual Innovations in Advanced Cardiac Imaging

Advanced cardiac imaging is a rapidly advancing field with a breathtaking pace of innovation and research. This activity brings together some of these leaders and innovators in the field of advanced cardiac imaging to discuss their work and ideas with us at the University of Chicago and the Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance, as well as provide a platform for the participants to network, collaborate, and brainstorm with them. It will expand participants' knowledge of the latest advances in advanced cardiac imaging. It will also highlight state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) techniques in congenital heart disease including virtual reality and 3D printing, virtual heart transplantation, 4D Flow MRI, and fetal cardiac MRI.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for pediatric and adult congenital cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and cardiology fellows who care for patients with cardiovascular disease.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify the transformative role of 3D printing and virtual reality in surgical planning for complex congenital heart disease;
- Describe the effectiveness of fetal cardiac MRI in improving the diagnosis of congenital heart disease;
- Discuss the role of advanced imaging in the planning of pediatric heart transplantation;
- Differentiate the applications of advanced imaging in adult congenital heart disease from those in pediatric cases.
